Hello Families,
I am sad to say that the last week of school is upon us. It has been wonderful getting to know and working with you all. You are all considered part of my Woodward family and will continue to be through the years! Thank you for all the memories you have allowed me to make with your children. I wish you all the best of luck in the future and don't forget to visit me!
We have no homework for this last week, but here are some things that we will be doing during the week:
Making Dirt Cake (like the Gold Miners used to eat) on Monday
The Ports Game on Tuesday (Don't forget to wear your tye-dye shirts.) A lunch is included in the price of their ticket: a hot dog, chips and a drink. I recommend not giving your child more than $20 spending money for the day. We leave at 8:45 and return at 2:30.
Wednesday will be a rotation morning with the 4th grade classes to do cool activities with the other teachers and we will also have a teacher kickball game in the afternoon that the students can watch.
Thursday will be clean up/board game day. Everything that belongs to your child should come home this day.
Friday, our last day, =( we will watch a movie and get out of school at 12:10. Let's start the summer out right and have some fun!
It has been a pleasure,
Mrs. Day
This blog spot is a special place where the teacher, students, and parents can communicate and share our learning experiences together. I look forward to seeing what we all contribute!

Homework for the Week of May 7th
Important Reminders: Please remember these important
reminders on homework and tests: Summaries are paragraphs that
include important things from their story. They must not include
opinions, such as I love this book. Students take a vocabulary quiz once a week.
There are 20 words and they must know their definitions. I
recommend that the students take home their vocabulary notebooks
nightly to study for their quiz. Notebooks must come back to school
the next day. This week students will be reading By the Great Horn Spoon. Chapter 26 Test Friday. Progress reports will come home Wednesday.
Spring pictures have gone home. Please decide if you would like to keep them or not. You can choose one sheet, or more than one, or none! If you do not choose to keep the pictures, they must come back. Also, the sheets you do not want to keep should come back when you return the money in.
We have a fieldtrip to the WOW museum in Lodi on May 9th. Permission slips have gone home. Students without signed permission slips will not be able to attend the field trip.
Monday: Do a fluency read for one minute aloud, read from a book of your choice for 15 minutes then write a 5 (or more if you choose) sentence summary about what you read, and complete the math page for Chapter 25 Lesson 1.
