Homework for the Week of September 6th

Hello Families,

I hope you all enjoyed your 3-day weekend! This week is a short week so there is no homework to do for Monday night.  We are taking our Spell-a-Thon spelling test on Wednesday, so students should be prepared to take it.  Hopefully your quest for donations are going well!  This is money that comes directly back to our classroom for field trips and extra activities.

If your child's homework requires more than 1 piece of paper to turn in, can you please make sure they are stapled or paper clipped together with their name on each paper.  Here is the homework for this week:

Tuesday:  Do a fluency read for 1 minute with an adult and mark on fluency paper, read from a book of your choice for 15 minutes then write a 5 (or more if you choose) sentence summary about what you read, complete the math page for Chapter 3 Lesson 1, and study for Spell-a-Thon spelling test.  (List of words was given last week.)

Wednesday:  Do a fluency read for 1 minute with an adult and mark on fluency paper, read from a book of your choice for 15 minutes then write a 5 (or more if you choose) sentence summary about what you read, and complete the math page for Chapter 3 Lesson 2.

Thursday:  Do a fluency read for 1 minute with an adult and mark on fluency paper, read from a book of your choice for 15 minutes then write a 5 (or more if you choose) sentence summary about what you read, and complete the math page for Chapter 3 Lesson 3.  There will not be a spelling test on Friday due to the Spell-a-Thon test on Wednesday.

*Papers that should be turned in on Friday are:  all reading log pages, the fluency paper, and the math homework from Thursday night.

Have a great week!
